Jeep 1 Ton Steering Upgrade, over the knuckle (fabrication required.)
Available for all makes and models of Jeeps.

So you want it all? You want to bash the rocks all weekend, then drive it to work on Monday. You want to hold the wheel and a caramel macchiato in one hand, and talk on your cell in another? Well you're going to work for it... but it will be worth it in the end, We promise.

Just like our under the knuckle setup; the rods are a beefy 1.25" diameter DOM, with an almost .25" wall; threads are direct tapped into the tube. This means (unlike a threaded insert) the TRE has full thread engagement into the tube for the length of its threads. On this system the passenger side TRE dust boot is replaced with a polyurethane spacer, which pulls the body of the TRE against this knuckle. This eliminates the tie rod roll that an inverted T setup sometimes has.

We recommend having this kit installed by a professional 4x4 shop in your area as cutting, drilling, reaming, and some fabrication needs to be done Installation should take about 4-5 hours.

In order to install this kit OTK on coil sprung front Jeeps you MUST:

  • Remove sway bar end link mounts (axle side.)
  • Cut/Remove Factory Steering Stabilizer mount.
  • Trim the front of the Coil Buckets.
  • Drill and Ream the Knuckles from the top.
  • Adjust the steering stops.

We also RECOMMEND:

  • That you replace/relocate your sway bar endlinks mounts (axle side.)
  • That you brace the inside front of your coil buckets.
  • Depending on what frameside trackbar bracket your running, you may want to relocate the axle side trackbar bracket above the axle. It's just a matter of matching the angle of the trackbar and drag link.

Please read the installation instrucions below BEFORE BUYING THIS PRODUCT. This will ensure that you realize what is involved with this install, and the limitations of this setup.

Q James • 07/05/2020, 10:55:51 AM Will this fit with a Dana 44 from a wagoneer front axle?
A 07/07/2020, 2:10:54 PM No, we don't offer the correct widths for that.
Q Dave • 10/23/2020, 8:42:33 PM Does the OTK setup offer better diff cover and track bar bolt clearance? Even my current UTK "offset" system will almost bottom out before tapping the stops. I like having as tight of a turn radius as possible.
A 10/26/2020, 4:24:49 PM Yes on the bolt and diff cover, but with OTK you have to start worrying about getting into your coil springs. Expect some turning radius loss with either system.
Q steve • 10/27/2020, 4:39:38 PM Hi , I have a 1981 Jeep CJ5. i would like to know if this kit can be installed on my CJ
A 11/03/2020, 3:33:15 PM It cannot.
Q Kyle • 11/30/2020, 10:42:21 PM Do you have replace balljoint for sell or part numbers?
A 12/04/2020, 12:00:43 PM We do not sell ball joints, no.
Q Steven • 01/08/2021, 6:27:39 PM I have an LS swapped XJ with the GM 4L60E transmission. Wanted more stopping power so we did the "WJ" brake upgrade. Also have the IRO truss and all the upgrades for the Dana 30. I'm wondering if your OTK will work in my set up?
A 01/15/2021, 4:50:14 PM Our kit will not work with the WJ knuckle swap.
Q Austin Miller • 01/14/2021, 3:50:04 AM What is the major difference between the UTK and OTK? Does the OTK provide higher ground clearance?
A 01/15/2021, 4:50:14 PM OTK provides more ground clearance and less angle of the drag link.
Q Tyler • 03/09/2021, 1:04:59 AM Will this fit a 92 YJ 4.0 I6
A 03/16/2021, 3:15:09 PM It will not.
Q Matthew bullis • 04/05/2021, 9:06:07 PM I have after market wheels that are 15 radius and 12 inches wide will this work for me I also have 5.5 inch of lift via a rubicon express lift and pukes
A 04/12/2021, 2:38:55 PM Backspacing is more important than wheel width. But it's really dependent on wheel design.
Q William Jacob McClain • 05/25/2021, 11:22:17 AM What sway bar relocation brackets work with this kit? I've had the OTK kit on my XJ for about 4 years now and am finally deciding to do a quick disconnect sway bar mount. A steering stabilizer mount would be nice as well if yall have any suggestions on that. I can make both but if yall offer it I might as well get the correct part off the bat.
A 06/04/2021, 11:31:41 AM Synergy makes a universal sway bar relocation bracket that should work (8235-03.) You may need to fab your own stabilizer mount.
Q Joshua Craven • 07/20/2021, 1:44:08 AM What lifts does this work with I'm on a 4.5 inch
A 07/23/2021, 10:31:57 AM Please contact our tech support team for more help with specifics on this kit.
Q DJ • 04/21/2024, 0:16:04 AM Any issues with bumpsteer since it looks like you leave the track bar in the factory location? From my experience an OTK steering system requires a over the axle trac bar.
A 05/17/2024, 11:54:15 AM Every steering set up will be different depending on lift height and other modifications. We recommend having a professional shop dial in your steering once installed.

Nice but
(Oregon) | March 30th, 2021
It’s nice but it doesn’t fit for a TJ this was almost 2 inches too long and by time I got done cutting everything down and re-tapping it basically just wasted my labor as the installer , it would’ve been more cost-effective to just buy the raw materials and make it myself that way I could’ve cut it once threaded once and been one and done instead I had to spend couple of hours cutting everything re-measuring everything and re-tapping it to get it down to the right length , perhaps they intend on sending it long and you’re supposed to do that I don’t know if that’s the case they should have multiple different part numbers for different vehicles
Note From JcrOffroad: Tyler, the OTK kits are the proper length for the listed vehicles when going over the knuckle. There is a chance that you received and under the knuckle bar by mistake? Please reach out to us at info@jcroffroad.com and we can be of further assistance. Sorry for the hassle.

"The only reason I bought this product was to save me time. It’s an easy kit to put together if I wanted to on my own but the price wasn’t bad so I went for this kit. 100% regret it. "

Everything was great except one tie rod end had a dent in it which has not allowed me to get a zerk to screw in, That was my only disappointment, with not much help to solve the issue
