¹ Antennas need to be grounded, you will need to remove some powder coating on this mount to create a proper ground for your antenna. Likely on the bottom side of the bracket's antenna hole and under one of the mounting bolt heads.
² The SWR of the antenna can be affected by proximity to any installed lights depending on antenna style. The small antenna shown is a Midland Ghost for GMRS, the larger is a dual-band Comet SBB-5NMO. Photos are for illustration purposes only, the small GMRS antenna would likely be negatively affected by its proximity to the ditch light.
³ Antennas emit radiation. You are responsible for making sure that your setup stays within safe levels. These levels can vary based on output power, antenna gain, and your distance from the antenna when transmitting. We are not responsible for doing this research or evaluating the safety of your setup.

The picture does not show a hole for antenna. Do the Ditch Light Brackets (BR6-DLM) have 1/2" holes for GRMS antenna ?

Yes, the production bracket will have 1/2" holes for an antenna. Photos will be updated soon!

The Bronco Ditch Light Brackets will have a 1/2" hole - I need 5/8" for a SO239 socket for my ham antenna. Is there enough space I can expend the 1/2 hole, or should I keep looking?
A

There is enough space for the hole, but as designed the hole is at the end of the slot and it would be hard to drill it out with the drill getting caught. You could Dremel the hole larger, however. The one problem I see is there is only 5/8" of room under the mount, so your SO239 would likely need more room than that.

Will the Baja Designs LP4 or LP6 fit?
A

You physically could mount either, we recommend the LP4 because it's a more compact light.

Would the Ford Performance Rigid 4" Pods mount on here or would they poke out too much in the back maybe and bump in to the A pillar?
A

They will clear.

Q
Mark Bohne • 05/01/2022, 5:16:09 PM
can you turn from front looking to 90 degrees sideways?
A
05/02/2022, 10:51:54 AM
The mount itself will not turn, but the lights will mount on a single stud and can be rotated.

Will these support a 4’ firestik antenna?
A
08/23/2022, 2:01:59 PM
Yes, but with space limitations we recommend using a low profile antenna cable end like the Firestik FireRing.

Isn't mounting a transmitting antenna that close to a metal object a problem for reflected power back into the radio and the radiation pattern?
A

It could reduce its range, yes. A taller antenna and a smaller light would give the best range in the position if that were the goal.
