Will this fit with 3/16" frame stiffeners installed, or will brackets need to be modified before welding?
A

The kit comes with stiffeners, so if you already have them installed, you would just skip that part of the install.

It does not, you would need to source your own, or order the full UNF kit with the steering box spacer (https://www.jcroffroad.com/product/XJUNF-PC.html)

I have frame stiffers on my xj so the mounts need go be about half an inch out from stock on each side, is there something yall will do to adapt to that or do I just weld the brackets where I need them? Thanks in advance!
A

Our mounts are designed for fit over .188" thick UNF brackets. That is likely the same as your stiffeners. We'd tack weld the mounts per the instructions and test fit it on your Jeep. The mounts can be moved out if needed.

I have a Warn VR EVO 8-S Winch
And it doesn't fit between the inside the front of the bumper and the back plate that is 90°. The only way it is going to fit is if I cut the back plate off. What is the purpose of the back plate is it structural or is it just there the looks?
A
04/12/2021, 2:38:55 PM
The back plate strengthens the winch plate, you may be able to bend it down instead of up for more room.
Q
Austin • 04/11/2021, 8:22:21 PM
What are the dimensions of the winch unit cutout?
A
04/12/2021, 3:20:52 PM
The winch plate itself is 33.5" x 7". There is a bent flange on the face of the bumper that protrudes 1" back into the winch area. The bumper face is 5" tall.

Don't be fooled by the youtube videos, this thing is a PITA. The instructions are murky at best (especially on the end cover pieces). Had a helluva time getting everything to line up. Not sure on shrinkage or take up or whatever, but I'm thinking you might be better off breaking all the tabs loose and starting from there. But the steel was good quality and clean, so the actual welding was a piece of cake. Would I do this again? Absolutely not. Will forgo the rear DIY bumper in favor of something else.
