² Designed to support the loads of the factory tow capacity, but carries no SAE certification, nor is it designed to meet any DOT or FMCSA regulation.
We produce these products in a low volume compared to the OEMs or aftermarket receiver hitch companies. As such, it's not feasible for us to get this product tested against SAE J684 specifications or design it meet specific DOT or FMCSA regulations. So while we try to over-engineer our products with the loads of the factory vehicle capacity in mind; towing a trailer on public highways is at your own risk and we make no claims on the legality or viability of doing so. We cannot offer any recommendations on capacity beyond this. If the ratings of the factory receiver hitch are important to you, we would recommend choosing a bumper that keeps that in place.

Can you run a 37” spare tire?
A

Depends on how you have your carrier setup. We would not recommend running a 37" on the stock carrier, but with a body mounted tire carrier it could fit fine.

How difficult is it to put in a hitch pin and hook up the safety chains? Love the look of this bumper, but I pull a trailer.
A

The pin goes in behind the bumper, so it's a matter of kneeling on the ground and putting it in usually.

can you get one built with out the logo? I know it would take longer and that's ok.

No we can't, sorry.

The dagger rear bumper comes with (2) 1/2x13x 4” bolts. Your video or instructions don’t explain what they’re for, why are they supplied in this kit?
A
08/12/2020, 3:39:22 PM
They are not used in this application.

Will this work with the factory muffler or do you have to replace it?
A

Factory muffler is fine and is shown in the photos.

Will this work on a JL? Or will you be making one for the JL? I like the idea of a fascia but also want it to extend to protect the pinch seams of the JL
A
12/30/2020, 4:42:59 PM
We have no plans for this on the JL

Does the bare metal take paint well when primed?
A
02/02/2021, 5:12:14 PM
Yes, be sure to clean the metal with mineral spirits or similar first.

Can I get the dagger rear bumper with the receiver sticking out further so the pin hole is accessible? I like this bumper and will gladly give up that small bit of clearance for convenience.
A
03/08/2021, 12:20:24 PM
Sorry, that is not a configuration we offer. This bumper was designed with max clearance in mind.

Will this bumper work with a door mounted tire carrier?
A

As long as the back of the tire stuck off the gate far enough to clear the bumper face, yes.

I’d prefer to see bends where they had two cut pieces welded together then ground down. I understand not all the angles can be bent but at least try. Also I’d like to see an option for no pods and no trailer attachment. The 4” cut off was pointless unless you can truly pull this thing right to the body. A good 1.5” is just empty space behind the bumper because the trailer hitch is too close to the rear storage on my jk. If i want a crawler type bumper then I want every inch I can get.
Welds look strong but nothing amazing. I’m sure it’ll hold up and do everything I want hence the 4 stars but I would’ve preferred a higher clearance bumper if I’m going to bother cutting 4” off my frame.

Excellent quality workmanship and welds. This bumper requires a little work to get it mounted but is well worth it if your looking for a minimalist rear bumper. Had some fitment issues with the provided brackets. Called JCR up, sent some pics, new brackets were shipped out quickly. Ended up making the original brackets work since the new ones were even worse. That's the only negative I have the reason for the 4 instead of 5. Customer service is a good solid 5 as the issue was resolved regardless. I get questions regarding this bumper constantly. The only 2 issues I have now that I have ran this bumper for a while now is: 1 needs a bracket inside to mount the trailer plug for trailer lights. Mine is just tied up underneath to hold it out of sight when not in use. 2 I would like the shackle tabs to be the width of the actual shackles so they don't get bound up at an angle if pulling off-center.
