How strong is that latch? I am looking to keep items in the basket in the event of a roll over, like bottle jacks and hammers and tools. Is there a way to increase the strength of the latch?
A

Although it has a positive retention, we have not tested this latch in a rollover.

If you’re looking for increased storage space that looks excellent, this is the basket for you (seriously, it’s a lot better than the OEM plastic). If you’re looking for a nightmare install that is more difficult than welding in coilover and performing a one-ton swap, the locking mechanism and design is for you. To make the lock even better, there is a pretty good chance you will have it immediately fail on the first use. Instead of dealing with JCR with a replacement lock, I opted to painstakingly remove the entire lock interface and put it where it belongs, the trash.

I believe it’s the best solution for lockable under seat storage for the Gladiator. I didn’t lose any space from the OEM storage bin. Putting the basket together was simple and I thought it was going to be smooth the entire install. Then I got to the lock. Installing the lock sucked. It took forever to maneuver while installing and also getting into the correct position to lock. The lock almost made me give up. But now it’s all together and after 3 months I can tell you I’m totally satisfied with the product. I’d buy again.

Really happy with this product. Cheapest solution I found to get locking storage under those back seats. Looks good, enlarges storage space, and there're a million things you can attach to the molle panels.

As much as I love this, I will warn you it was by far the most painstaking install I've ever done on my Jeep. I've done lights, bumpers, you name it. This was truly a nightmare. Don't let that scare you away though. If you fully remove or almost fully remove the seat covers/cushions (gently maneuver the foam off of the metal frame you need to mount the locking hardware to), this frees all all the space you need and allows you to get those bolts tightened. I could only fit a washer on one of the two bolts on the lock hardware since the holes are so close together. Shouldn't be a big deal though. Love it now though and it looks AWESOME!

If you are looking for a nicer and cheaper way to secure recovery gear or whatever under your seat this is the way to go! The locking lids from Jeep cost at least twice as much and are not nearly as good. The main reason I went with the JCR molle basket was that you don't lose any storage space like you do with the Jeep locking lids.
The materials used are high quality and are made in the USA (this is important to me). The hardware is solid, the powder coat is perfect and the metal is heavy duty.
Install was pretty easy, the brackets that attach to the seat can be a little tricky but after some adjustments everything lined up perfectly. I had a small issue with the lock but JCR quickly sent me a new one, they replied to my email the same day and had a new lock out to me within a couple of days. Customer service is top notch!
Next up is the Gladiator half rack and maybe a bumper.

I was excited to receive this. Packaging was excellent and I received it without any blemishes. Installation however made me go bald!
Assembly on the basket itself is easy enough. Make sure you tighten the lock mechanism well and make sure that it’s aligned with the small “c” shaped backing bracket.
Installing/aligning the locking brackets on the seat frame is awfully frustrating, the nuts and bolts have to be extremely tight to prevent them from moving out of place when someone sits on the seat. I broke one of the smaller bolts in the process. I’d recommend buying some better grade hardware.
Once everything is finally aligned and tightened down it’s a pretty nice kit, just be prepared for a fight. Overall, i would buy this again because the added security.
