Why is this product not recommended for JL/JT/JK roof racks?

Due to the weight of the awning that would be mounted to these mounts. We don't recommend hanging that much weight from the side of a gutter mounted rack on a fiberglass top.

No, that is more weight than we would recommend mounting off the side of the rack.
