Dynamic (road) weight rating is 200lbs. Static and jarring off-road weight limits are at your discretion.
Please note: vehicle will handle and wheel very differently with high loads on the roof. We recommend securing kayaks, canoes, and items that may generate resistance or lift at speed properly to the front and rear of the vehicle, not just the rack.
Rack Dimensions
51" wide x 72" long
2.5" above the tallest portion of the roof
We recommend using paint protection film under the front and rear fairings, where they contact the vehicle. This will prevent dirt and debris from scratching the paint over time.

Q
Ernesto Limon • 03/28/2020, 1:58:21 PM
Is this rack compatible with a 2-door model?
If so, does it hang over the front of the roof going over the windshield?
A
04/06/2020, 11:50:26 AM
The 2dr XJ is the exact length of the 4dr. This rack will fit great on either.
Q
Zach A • 04/13/2020, 12:01:27 PM
Could you please tell me, what are the dimensions of the cross member rails?
A
04/16/2020, 5:17:11 PM
The rack usable dimensions are roughly 72 long by 52 wide.
Q
John • 04/23/2020, 8:51:23 PM
How much wind noise is generated by the light bar cut out? Is there any provision for additional support brackets?
A
04/27/2020, 3:56:52 PM
Wind noise is minimal. Extra supports to the rain gutters you mean? No not as designed. They could be easily drilled and added though.
Q
Scott • 05/07/2020, 10:12:56 PM
I have a 2000 XJ with a sunroof. Can a bar be taken out to allow the roof to open with this roof rack?

You can remove one bar for the sunroof if needed, yes.
Q
sean • 06/05/2020, 11:40:12 AM
Would this be compatible with any roof top tents? Har to tell from the pics, but how far do the cross ties sit below the side panels when installed?
A
06/05/2020, 3:03:23 PM
We recommend using our RTT brackets to lift the tent high enough to allow easy attachment. Code: VRKRTT (https://www.jcroffroad.com/product/VRKRTT-PC.html)
Q
Kenneth Lujan • 06/17/2020, 2:00:22 AM
Can this be mounted with a Lund visor or does the front mounting bracket interfere?
A
06/24/2020, 5:25:15 PM
We have not tested this.
Q

07/07/2020, 2:10:54 PM
Cutout fairing designed for 41.25" max lens housing width single row LED light bar. Up to 43.5" (mounting stud width) bar will fit with our mounts, but trimming of the fairing will be required
Q
Chris • 07/16/2020, 9:57:26 PM
I currently have the black series 48" rough country curved light bar. I noticed that this says 40" is that straight or curved? Also, is there anyway I could use the 48" and not have to re-buy? Thoughts?
A
07/21/2020, 3:41:07 PM
40" straight single row is what the fairing is designed for. We are not sure if you could modify it to fit your bar.
Q
Rick Fletcher • 07/22/2020, 8:13:01 PM
Does the stock roof rack need to be removed for this to be installed? I love the low profile design, I just can't tell if the factory rails are under the rack.
A
08/05/2020, 1:07:37 PM
Yes it does.
Q
Jamie Lorete • 07/28/2020, 10:45:55 AM
If I buy the 40in light bar cut out fairing, will it come with all the accessories to attach my 40in light bar?
A
08/05/2020, 1:07:37 PM
Yes.
Q
Clay • 09/11/2020, 2:51:18 PM
I purchased this roof rack with the light bar cutout. My question is how does the light bar mount to the rack? Do I need specific mounts that you sell or is it a standard mounting? If so I have not seen the mounts on your website. Thank you please advise.
A
09/14/2020, 3:14:11 PM
Mounts to attach the lightbar are included in the cutout fairing kit.
Q
William • 10/11/2020, 11:56:40 PM
I am strongly considering your XJ Adventure Roof Rack for my 97 2 Door XJ. It looks like this sits pretty tight to the roof line. Assuming the cross bars need to be removed but Do the factory roof rails need to also be removed?
A
10/16/2020, 2:56:58 PM
We recommend removing the factory rails as well.
Q
Shaun Sweeney • 10/29/2020, 6:16:38 PM
Is it recommended or needed to use anti seize since the kit has SS hardware threading into aluminum? I'm concerned about corrosion over time being exposed to moisture.
A
11/03/2020, 3:33:15 PM
Sure, that is a good idea.
Q
Kurt Sloan • 11/04/2020, 5:06:23 PM
Is there a tire mount attachment to put the spare tire on the roof rack?
A
11/10/2020, 4:59:01 PM
Yes (1) qty VRKACM-PC and (1) qty UNI-TM
Q
Thomas • 12/09/2020, 8:18:09 PM
I really like this roof rack design, but I own a WJ not an XJ. My question is will you guys ever offer a roof rack for the WJ. If not would I be able to custom order a narrowed down XJ rack from you? Thanks.
A
12/10/2020, 11:17:58 AM
No sorry, we don't offer custom racks. WJ rack maybe in the future, but no idea on timeline.
Q
max • 12/20/2020, 1:54:38 AM
Is the roof rack compatible with a KC light bar?
A
12/23/2020, 5:13:09 PM
We have not tested that, you probably couldn't run the fairing at all with the KC bar.
Q
Zach • 12/29/2020, 9:48:03 PM
You guys state that the dynamic (road) weight rating is 200lbs. Static and jarring off-road weight limits are at your discretion. What is the weight capacity for the rack when the vehicle is not moving? Would it be able to support a 150 - 190lb rooftop tent with two grown adults and a dog while stationary?
A
12/30/2020, 4:42:59 PM
We haven't had any issues on our Jeep with that much stationary weight, but you need to be sure that your rain gutter pinch welds are in good shape.
Q
Mitchel Ferguson • 01/04/2021, 10:58:34 PM
What's the width and height of an individual cross bar? And how much space is roughly between the bottom of the cross bars and roof? I wanted to check if some Thule ski rack mounts can be mounted to the rack
A
01/07/2021, 1:01:36 PM
Bars are 2 x 1" There is about an 1-2" of space under them depending on where you are mounting a rack.
Q
Eric L Hansen • 01/13/2021, 10:14:00 PM
What is the weight capacity? I'm looking for one I can sleep on with my wife under the stars.
A
01/15/2021, 4:50:14 PM
We don't have an official weight capacity of the XJ's rain gutters, but we and our customers have used these racks with Roof Top Tents without issue.
Q
Eric L Hansen • 01/13/2021, 10:22:38 PM
Is this rack compatible with your 50" light bar mount kit?
A
01/15/2021, 4:50:14 PM
No it is not. This rack will use a single row 40" lightbar if you choose that option.
Q
Jeffrey • 01/18/2021, 12:52:51 PM
Would this roof rack fit on a 1995 Jeep Cherokee Country?
A
01/25/2021, 10:53:52 AM
Yes
Q
Jake Dowling • 01/22/2021, 9:55:35 AM

We currently do not.
Q
Kevin Lehman Jr. • 02/18/2021, 6:13:16 PM
XJ Adventure Roof Rack
In the video it mentions u can put a tent on top. But it says its rated for 200lb is that each cross member or the whole roof rack 200lb spread out? Most guys my again lol are over 200lbs!
A
03/01/2021, 2:33:46 PM
That 200lbs is for the whole rack, but that is a dymanic (driving around) weight recommendation. The rack will hold much more with the vehicle stopped.
Q
John K • 02/20/2021, 1:28:37 PM
When you remove the factory cross bars, what do you do about the holes in the roof? I saw what looked like plugs in one fo the pictures. Are those provided?
A
03/01/2021, 2:33:46 PM
You can use RTV in the holes, or you can use bolts with rubber or nylon washers.
Q
Gio • 04/19/2021, 2:14:39 AM
Can a 42" light bar be squeezed in there?
A
04/21/2021, 3:38:02 PM
Cutout fairing designed for 41.25" max lens housing width single row LED light bar. Up to 43.5" (mounting stud width) bar will fit with our mounts, but trimming of the fairing will be required
Q
Zach • 05/31/2021, 12:25:39 PM
Does the roof rack come with that gutter mounts or do those need to be bought separately. Just wanting to know if I buy this does it come completely ready to put on my xj thanks!
A
06/04/2021, 11:31:41 AM
The rack comes with mounts and hardware.
Q
Cj • 07/01/2021, 11:09:07 PM
Can you mount this on a truck canopy?
A
07/08/2021, 2:19:03 PM
See this product from our sister company: https://www.victory4x4.com/product/VRKCAP.html
Q
Mark • 07/05/2021, 7:13:29 PM
What awnings are compatible with this rack? what hardware do I need to mount an awning?
A
07/08/2021, 2:19:03 PM
You would need some sort of universal awning mount. Check with the manufacturer of whatever awning you purchase.
Q
Gary • 07/20/2021, 11:30:39 AM
Can you order the rack with center cut T-nut slots? You show the slots cut at one end of the rails but I think that would interfere with mounting things on both sides of the rack, close to the side rails. Seems like a slot in the middle of the rail would work better and not be a big install issue as you don’t really mount things with T-nuts in the dead center if the rack?
A
07/23/2021, 10:31:57 AM
It's only offered with the offset milling for t-nuts. You can always flip the bars if you need to mount t-nuts on the very edge. You can feed the t-nuts from the ends of the bars by easily unbolting and lifting one side.
Q
Laurence • 07/27/2021, 3:20:32 PM
Is there any way to add Thule or Yakima bars to this rack where I could utilize their accessories such as the "stacker" for hauling kayaks?
A
08/12/2021, 2:32:10 PM
Most of those universal type mounts (like the stacker) should fit around our bars. The JayLow is another boat mount that fits our bars fine if you remove the rubber spacers in the clamp.
Q
Stephen Panter • 09/29/2021, 9:59:57 AM
Will this rack accommodate accessories from rhino rack or front runner?
A
10/05/2021, 5:19:18 PM
They typically have different mounting spacing. But can sometimes be modified to work. Our rails have slots that are 1" apart if you wanted to inquire with them about dimensions.
Q
Brian C • 01/27/2022, 11:53:52 PM
what is the weight of this roof rack?
A
01/28/2022, 11:12:28 AM
About 50lbs.
Q
Ryan • 02/07/2022, 6:31:11 PM
what is the exact width from edge to edge of the light bar cutout?
A
02/09/2022, 11:23:26 AM
41"
Q
Aaron • 03/24/2022, 2:59:38 PM
I'm wanting to order your LED roof light kit for $107. I'd be interested in putting the led lights on three sides. A total of six lights, do the sides accommodate the LED kit as well, or just the back?
A
03/24/2022, 3:25:55 PM
Yes, they will mount to the side rails and the rear fairing.
Q
Jared • 05/07/2022, 11:48:18 PM
I have the old model JCR adventure rack with the safari basket option. How much weight does this new version save? Thanks!
A
05/10/2022, 9:32:22 AM
The old rack with the basket was 100+ lbs. The new rack is about 50lbs.
Q
eleuterio • 06/30/2022, 8:25:53 PM
I ordered the roof rack it came with 4 round rubber circles what are those for?
A
07/01/2022, 12:00:10 PM
The bolt pack is shared between several models. The rubber bumpers aren't needed on the XJ.
Q
Vincent • 08/09/2022, 11:38:43 AM
Will the Roam 93L fit side to side on the rack?
Exterior Dimensions 50.75" W x 19.75" L x 8" H
A
08/15/2022, 4:06:24 PM
The rack is roughly 52" wide, so it should.
Q
Gary Karczewski • 08/09/2022, 12:36:58 PM
One last question,
I would use this to carry lumber not to exceed the 200 LB weight limit. Being the width is 51 inches I presume a 4 x 8 can fit though the length is less than 8 foot correct?
A
08/11/2022, 9:06:41 AM
Correct
Q
Cohen • 08/13/2022, 1:36:05 AM
Will this fit a 2 door xj
A
08/15/2022, 4:06:24 PM
Yes.
Q
joshua valenzuela • 10/18/2022, 9:43:14 AM
do you offer a wider foot print for the bracket that mounts to the gutter? it looks like it goes from 4in at the rack to 2in on the gutter of the car. I would like to buy this rack if the feet were wider.
A
10/18/2022, 2:56:12 PM
We only offer the mounts as shown. We've had a bunch of weight on ours using similar mounts without issue for years.
Q
Jon • 11/23/2022, 9:23:52 PM
What is the dimensional spacing between the crossbars?
A
12/01/2022, 10:31:10 AM
10.75" on center.
Q
Bryan • 12/22/2022, 2:21:48 PM
I ordered this rack along with several accessories for my XJ - hi lift jack mount, cargo hooks and cb/light mounts. Amongst all the hardware bags there were 4 round rubber plug-type things. What are these for?
A
01/03/2023, 2:56:15 PM
They are for another application.
Q
Clay Hanson • 12/27/2022, 11:41:02 AM
I currently have a curved light bar on my XJ and I get alot of glare off my hood. Does the light cutout block alot of this glair? (My glare issue is probably caused by the fact that I have a cheepo light bar with mostly flood lights)
A
01/03/2023, 2:56:24 PM
The setback of the light and the cutout of the fairing seems to help with that problem.
Q
Alex L • 12/31/2022, 1:48:59 PM
Can you use the low profile light bar brackets while using the adventure rack? Or would they hit one another
A
01/03/2023, 2:56:24 PM
They would hit each other.
Q
Sean • 01/19/2023, 3:36:14 PM
Hi,
Can you tell me the dimensions of the box this is shipped in and the shipping weight?
Thank you, Sean
A
01/20/2023, 5:33:50 PM
Two boxes, 80" x 6" x 3" & 60" x 10" x 5", roughly 35 lbs and 8 lbs.
Q
dave • 02/07/2023, 7:45:30 PM
if extra gutter mounts can be easily drilled for more support, does that mean the mounts closest to windshield can be moved back to allow your 50" light bracket mounts to be used?
A
02/14/2023, 4:48:44 PM
The light bar mount and rack are not compatible with each other.
Q
Doug • 02/25/2023, 10:25:08 PM
Hi, I currently have this rack on my XJ. Do you sell or can you recommend a good mount for carrying a canoe upside down?
A
03/13/2023, 4:14:43 PM
Most universal canoe and kayak mounts work great. But if you are just loading one canoe upside down, you may only need some padding. Check out the NRS Rack Wrap.
Q
Dom • 04/06/2023, 1:24:12 AM
Someone posted a review stating that a 42” rigid horse light bar fits perfectly. Can y’all confirm this? I just ordered my rack the other day and want to have a light picked out for when it gets here. If not, is there a particular light you guys recommend?
A
04/17/2023, 6:29:27 PM
We can't find anywhere online with the actual dimensions of that bar, but as long as it meets this specs it should be fine: Cutout fairing designed for 41.25" max lens housing width single row LED light bar. Up to 43.5" (mounting stud width) bar will fit with our mounts, but trimming of the fairing will be required.
Q
Emily • 05/18/2023, 8:35:08 AM
When you remove the stock roof rails you have holes. If I leave the bolts in the holes, will they be in the way and stick up too far?
A
05/22/2023, 4:48:04 PM
Leaving bolts installed in the factory rail mounts will not interfere with our rack.
Q
Ivan • 08/17/2023, 11:16:53 PM
Planning on picking this rack up soon, what is the brand of that tent that can directly be installed to this rack¿
A
11/30/2023, 3:03:08 PM
Our racks are relatively universal in that aspect. Most tents should work just fine, we recommend using our RTT mounts for that application.

No, this rack was only designed to fit the XJ model.
Q

by far the most attractive looking roof rack on the market, pretty easy to build and install. i had some trouble figuring out how to mount the rooftop tent to this, with it being a hardshell it sits very close to the rack but with the JCR RTT mounts and taking the front and back off of the roof rack i was able to mount it all by myself relatively easily. for the money and quality this roof rack is 100% worth it. its everything they say it is and more.

Great looking rack. I really like the low profile. My old rack was ten inches tall and this one is only 6. I ordered several accessories with it too - love the versatility.

This rack is perfect! Installation was a breeze, it’s perfect for my RTT! Love it!

This is a great rack as the other reviews suggest! The only problem I had with the rack is on the older body style Xj’s the rear hatch hinges stick up about a 1/4 of an inch. This lead to the rear part of the rack to not sit flush and create noise while driving. This was not a major issue and all I had to do was notch the metal a bit in order to get everything to fit correctly but it is something to keep in mind.

Awesome roof rack and very light weight! Highly recommend for your XJ. Best rack out there!

Wow... just as I expected, just wow. This is the only rack to buy for your XJ. I put it together by myself and got it on the XJ by myself. Super strong, lots of add-on options! Sits low, no wind noise, looks great, ETC ETC. Would I buy it again? HELL YA...My only complaint is the price, its over 200 more than a JL rack that is nearly the same.. I paid $819.00 (w/cutout) then it went down 85 dollars within 2 days!! Overall, happy...

The title says it all. Design, looks, strength, quality, functionality, you name it and this rack exceeds expectations. It is even quiet when driving down the highway. High quality and made in the U.S.A. I will definitely purchase from JCROffroad in the future.

I should probably save most of my comments for the Adventure Imports Blog Article, but....finally, FINALLY someone is building equipment as beautiful as XJ's themselves!
This rack goes together super easy, looks sleek and is quiet with the windows down at highway speeds!
My fatass walked around on it so I know it's a strong rack! ;)
Great work fellas!

Still waiting on a roof tent for mine, but I hear great things. There is zero wind noise or drag, my MPG has stayed the same. Fits amazon 42" rigid horse light bar perfectly. No light hits the hood at all. Same price as most "basket" style racks, just as strong but none of the drawbacks. Personally I think this rack looks better than basket racks on XJ's. Took about 2 hours to install. Overall great product.
